Popular Trends I Never Thought I Would Actually Be Into

Dress: Zara (old) , Shoes: Doc Martens

Like  many of us, we all have this pandemic in our minds. It seems like many moons ago life was smooth sailing and now I hold back my disbelief that toilet paper is worth its weight in gold. After all, here we are sitting at home and got nothing to do so why not put the toilet paper down and enjoy with me what would have been our favorite wardrobe trends of the season! Alright, perhaps not a crisis fashion edition. However trends do come and go, the real lasting effect in a woman’s taste will be the dominant style in her own daily look.  Either way, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite trends I’ve been eyeing on and hopefully, this can take your mind off things.

1. WARM TINTED SUNGLASSES

The 70s are back in style! Well to be fair, I don’t believe they ever truly left us. Most likely one of my favorite trends as I’ve always been an advocate for oversized sunglasses, especially my vintage ones. These spring /summer trends are holdovers from previous seasons and I am completely in love. 70s fashion has always been one of my inspirations when incorporating modern street style fashion. These types of sunglasses will for sure stay relevant for many years.

2. Chunky Boots

I am obsessed with androgynous style especially sturdy chunky boot! I think its safe to say you can pair up a chunky boot with any outfit from a dress to pairing it up with a suit. They’re a sure way to elevate some spunk into any outfit. I am obsessed with these Bottega boots here and here

3. Oversized Victorian Sleeves

The perfect hybrid of a victorian era style blouse can be paired up with blue jeans and a small heel. The perfect wardrobe this spring/summer season. This adds drama to any outfit! I love a puffy sleeve because it just gives it more oomph to my look and they make great attention stealers.

4. Square Toe Heels

Ok, I gotta admit when I first saw these heels, I wasn’t completely sold but when you start to see them all over IG, I find these to be actually chic!  As my style evolves, I find the more unconventional approach to style to be better appealing. Open toe square sandals instead of the normal traditional heels something to consider. Just something about square toe heels screams Parisian style and I am here for it!

5. Cropped Top Blazer

Move over an oversized blazer, there’s a new girl in town and she’s blossoming!  Although I won’t ever part with my favorite oversized blazer, I can’t help but ogle at the sight of a power woman strutting with a cropped blazer. In case you’re not sold on oversized pieces, this cropped top blazer makes the perfect best friend with any oversize trousers or blue jeans. Cropped top blazers are having a moment this season!

6. Balloon Jeans

I am a huge jeans girl, but balloon pants subtly remind me of our favorite cool mom jeans. It’s time we lay to rest the skinny jeans and get ourselves a pair of these chic puffy jeans. The best part about these jeans is that you can add a basic top and it can be a subtle way to grab attention without much effort involved.

7. Bucket Hats

I’m taking in all of the 90s showstoppers and bucket hats are no exception. You can find a bucket hat in any type of style and it will instantly make an outfit a winner. It’s a perfect style way of saving a bad hair day. Check out some of the similar options below

8. Bermuda Shorts

These Bermuda shorts are coming back stronger than ever before and with more people styling them, I find these shorts to actually cause a fashion statement in a bold way. Long gone are the days of wearing booty shorts but rather let’s take another unconventional approach to shorts. I’m loving this year’s trendy shorts!

9. Babydoll Dress

This is one of my favorite trends of the season. Just slipping myself into a babydoll dress instantly gives me a relaxed chic vibe and I can just pair with a chunky boot. Take any babydoll dress will instantly make an outfit feel fun and flirty with either a combat boot or sandals.

10. Bra Tops

One of the hottest trends when it comes to athleisure wear. It’s not difficult to compare to its sister underwire bra which is more of a relaxed stylish look. Make this simple trend into your everyday look and see how much cooler your outfit looks. Any simple bralette will banish the need for a top and will instantly create attention. Bralettes are a statement piece for every woman’s closet!
